t is understood Rooney attempted to train on Sunday with the national team, but left the pitch citing discomfort in his knee.
He subsequently went for a scan at the Aspire medical facility in Watford on Monday where a slight knee injury was discovered.
Rooney reported to United's training ground on Tuesday, having been released by the FA, and he was assessed by medical staff at Carrington.
